In a Q&A session led by Robin Teigland of NVWN, Justin will discuss Open Simulator, the Second Life compatible open-source virtual environment platform, as well as present his thoughts on the emerging open-source virtual environment ecosystem. In particular, he will discuss the role of entrepreneurship in developing this ecosystem as well as current and possible future business models.

He has been working in the virtual environment space for many years, formerly as lead developer at the Fashion Research Institute and then as an independent software consultant specializing in OpenSimulator. In the latter role, he has worked on projects for many private companies and public bodies. These projects range from adding new features to the OpenSimulator codebase; installing, maintaining and trouble shooting OpenSim grids; and carrying out OpenSimulator-based application development. One recent project was a collaboration between Intel and Sandia National Labs to develop a serious game about water resource usage using OpenSimulator. Justin blogs about OpenSimulator and other virtual world/environment issues at http://justincc.org and as @justincc on Twitter.
