IMAGINE PeaceFest 2011! Heads, Hearts, Hands!

This weekend, Nov 11-13, it is time for the annual PeaceFest, and this year's event is titled IMAGINE PeaceFest 2011! Heads, Hearts, Hands!

PeaceFest is a three day event taking place in Second Life that is organized by the Peace Train Charitable Trust.  The proceeds from this fundraising event will go to three real life charity organizations: The Rural Economic and Agricultural Development Agency: Cambodia, RAWA - The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan, and One Laptop per Child.

The first PeaceFest event in 2008 was one of the largest fund-raising events in virtual worlds at the time: attracting 8,000 to 10,000 avatars and raised 870,000 Linden dollars from approximately 3,000 individuals from across the globe that were then donated to 10 real world charitable organizations including UNICEF and Amnesty International.

The event includes numerous art exhibitions, music performances, tours, workshops, and presentations throughout a variety of locations in Second Life. Here is the complete schedule.

More information is in the below video.

See you there!
